So I think me deciding to take it easy yesterday was a premonition, I’m now ill again. Back-to-back illnesses is far from ideal! One of my friends has given this to me and he was only out of action for a day though, so I’m hoping I’ll be back up and running again tomorrow.
Has anyone got any good cold cures or ways they avoid getting ill? I think my poor, battered immune system needs some assistance!
Whatever illnesses, injuries or set backs I’ve had recently I’m trying not to let it affect me. My routine has gone out of the window and I think my running is suffering for it. However, life really does go on! And so will I. Maybe slightly more slowly than before until I get myself sorted…

I’ve got a horrible cold/cough/sore throat thing at the moment – had it since Sunday. The strange thing is, it is making me really want to run… I almost never look forward to running so I’m a bit confused. Hopefully, the motivation will outlast the illness. Get well soon.

Thank you you too. And I’m sure the motivation will think positive 😉

I have read that being carbohydrate depleted leaves you at risk of infections. So you should save some of your daily carbohydrate allowance to eat before and after your run so that your muscles can refuel. There’s something about it in this months ‘running and fitness ‘ magazine.

Ooh thanks for that I’ve got a relative in hospital and I’ve been grabbing a lot of food on the go. Most of it has been protein with very little carbs so that might have been where I’ve gone wrong!
