A lot has happened in my absence! Firstly, an explanation, sadly one of my nearest and dearest has spent the last 7 weeks in hospital meaning a lot of time has been spent between home and the hospital, and very little has been spent on the internet.
However, I’ve found that running really has become my coping mechanism, so my training has kept going. I’ve stepped up the mileage just for a reason to be outside the house, in true British fashion I can’t deal with emotion and would prefer to just carry on as usual.
On that note, it’s my 10k this Sunday!! It has come around ridiculously quickly and I’m so nervous I feel sick. I don’t think I can make it, but I’m not sure if that is just me being an irrational, obsessive perfectionist. Hopefully the nerves will calm down over the next couple of days and I’ll be perfectly calm by weekend….
I have also made some exciting running-related purchases, ranging from a book to a foam roller. All of which I shall take great pleasure in reviewing over the next couple of weeks (there’s nothing I like better than a good review, except maybe dark chocolate).
If anyone has any nerve-calming suggestions (that don’t involve Tequila) they would be much appreciated. I’m going to be a wreck by weekend at this rate!
